Gerard Pizarro serves as the Senior Attorney at California Law Partners, bringing a wealth of experience in business litigation within the Superior Courts of California and the United States District Courts. His current role includes serving as litigation counsel for executive officers of Calidi Biotherapeutics, Inc., a stem cell cancer research company listed on the NYSE American stock exchange (ticker: CLDI).
Gerard has a notable track record in handling complex cases, including a successful 2022 settlement related to chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) brain injuries in a case against Nike Golf Camp, which spanned seven years through the Los Angeles Superior Court and appellate system. Another significant case involved representing Emma, a survivor of a gunshot wound to the head. Her inspiring story is depicted in the indie film "Blood on Canvas," available on Apple TV and other streaming platforms.
Before his legal career, Gerard amassed experience in U.S. government contracting, law, and business development from 1992 to 2010. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Laws and Juris Doctor degrees from Thomas Jefferson School of Law between 1989 and 1991. He became a member of the State Bar of California and the United States District Court in June 1992 and has been a member of the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association.
Furthering his expertise, Gerard obtained a Master's Certificate in Government Contracting from George Washington University. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he completed the LEAD Professional Certificate from Stanford University's Graduate School of Business, a program designed for mid-to-senior-level professionals to drive organizational change and transformation.
The values that guide California Law Partners are deeply rooted in the legacy of Tony Pizarro, Gerard's father. A 30-year U.S. Navy veteran born in the Philippines, Tony began his military career as a sailor and rose to the rank of U.S. Naval Officer, serving during the Vietnam War and the Iran crisis. He played a pivotal role in logistics and human resources recruitment in Subic Bay during his deployment to Diego Garcia.
After retiring from the Navy, Tony founded Integrity Management Enterprises (IME) in San Diego, assembling a team of seven Filipino-American U.S. Naval Officers. Under his leadership, IME became a key logistics contractor for the Department of the Navy, managing Pacific and Atlantic Fleet ISSOP contracts valued at over $1 billion.
Tony's remarkable achievements, accomplished without a college degree and often as the sole Filipino Naval officer in his deployments, are a testament to his determination and leadership. His biography, detailing his philanthropic endeavors and professional journey, is available on Amazon.
Together with his late wife, Dr. Priscila Santos-Pizarro, M.D., Tony instilled in his family the values of grit, honor, and resilience—principles that continue to inspire and guide the mission of California Law Partners.
Our firm is deeply committed to giving back to the community through pro bono services focused on critical areas such as addiction, mental health, and life challenges faced by veterans, legal professionals, medical practitioners, and creatives in the film and television industry.
